Welcome to the High School Library
The Library Media Center is the heart of the school. It is a place for pleasurable and profitable learning experiences via both print and non-print materials. The Library Media Specialist and staff are always available for individual guidance or group assistance.

All students, teachers and community members have Online access to the Library Catalogs for the three Spencer - Van Etten School Libraries as well as the regional School Library System Catalog.
Once there, you can access the many online databases that are provided for research purposes. For use of databases from home students and staff should check with the Library Staff for necessary logins and passwords.

Reasons for coming to the library include...
- to do research
- to do homework
- to do recreational reading
- to take exams as requested by the teacher
- computer and Internet use is for school-related work only
- students may be declared ineligible to use the library for periods of time if their behavior is inappropriate or disruptive
Book sign-out information
- students are allowed to have 3 books out of the library at a time
- books are signed out for 2 weeks, and may be renewed before the due date
- the due date is stamped on a slip in the back of the book
- reference books are to be used only in the library
- a book that is lost or irreparably damaged must be paid for; the amount due is based on replacement costs
- students with overdue books will have to return the books before taking out new ones
