Affordable Connectivity Program

The Affordable Connectivity Program is an FCC benefit program that helps ensure that households can afford the broadband they need for work, school, healthcare and more.

The benefit provides a discount of up to $30 per month toward internet service for eligible households.

Eligible households can also receive a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from participating providers if they contribute more than $10 and less than $50 toward the purchase price.

The Affordable Connectivity Program is limited to one monthly service discount and one device discount per household, and the program will stop accepting new applications and enrollments on February 8, 2024.  The Spencer-Van Etten CSD participates in the USDA Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), which qualifies families with children in school.  Please consider enrolling in this program to assist with connectivity expenses and devices.

More information can be found on the FCC’s website at Affordable Connectivity Program | Federal Communications Commission (fcc.gov).

[Tuesday, Jan 16 at 4:43 PM] Update: The Spencer-Van Etten Central School District's participation in the USDA's Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), which provides free breakfast and lunch meals to all children, qualifies our families for the Affordable Connectivity Program. Applicants are required to submit a letter from the district confirming student's enrollments within a specific SVE school with their application for the program. The federal government's funding is scheduled to end barring congressional action, which means the program will end sometime in April 2024. Applications must be received by 2/7/2024 at 11:59 pm. Please reach out to Barbara Case at bcase@svecsd.org with any questions.
