Spencer-Van Etten students were recently recognized for completing their Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs through Greater Southern Tier BOCES. The graduation ceremony, held June 17, celebrated the accomplishments of students across a wide range of skilled trades and career-focused pathways.
Chris Merrick received special recognition as he was named CTE Student of the Year, an honor that reflects outstanding performance, dedication, and leadership within his program. Merrick also signed an employment contract with Edger Enterprises, marking a successful transition from student to workforce professional.
Students represented programs in fields such as culinary arts, automotive technology, welding and metal fabrication, health careers, early childhood education, and digital media arts. Many of the programs included work-based learning opportunities and industry certifications that prepare students for immediate employment or further education.
