Spencer-Van Etten eighth grader Tristan Jennings participated in the Ithaca College Summer Music Academy for the second time this summer.
The program provided daily ensemble rehearsals and elective coursework. Jennings performed with band and choir and explored additional studies in guitar, magic and African drumming.
Students also took part in recreational activities, including movies, games and talent shows. Jennings said one highlight was meeting peers who share his interest in music.
The Summer Music Academy is designed to expand students’ skills while introducing them to new areas of study under the guidance of experienced instructors.
