The Spencer-Van Etten Central School District has announced that Patricia Stauring will begin her role as principal of Spencer-Van Etten Middle School on Nov. 1.
Earlier this week, students in Mr. McDermott’s fourth-period Creative Writing class worked with Stauring to draft a welcome letter that will be featured in the middle school’s October newsletter. On Sept. 24, the class also conducted an interview with her to learn more about her background and interests.
Stauring joins S-VE from the Canisteo-Greenwood School District, where she taught for 23 years. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree, a Master of Teaching, and a degree in administration.
She and her husband have two sons, Malachi and Josiah, as well as several pets, including a dog named Onyx and two cats, Pebbles and Bambam. Outside of school, she enjoys hiking, visiting waterfalls, attending live music events, and following the Green Bay Packers and New York Yankees.
The youngest of five children, Stauring has traveled to Germany, visited most states in the U.S., and is committed to bringing consistency, care, and strong leadership to her new role at S-VE Middle School.
The district and students welcomed her this week and look forward to her official start in November.
