The Spencer-Van Etten Central School District welcomed William Martinez for a day of inspiring assemblies centered around having PRIDE in oneself and recognizing the importance of belonging within the school community.
Martinez shared his personal journey of connecting with others through both song and sign language, encouraging students to embrace their individuality and work together to achieve their dreams.
Following the assemblies, he met with each grade level to further enhance S-VE’s PBIS pledge, which he wrote for the district. Students learned to recite the pledge using American Sign Language, an engaging and meaningful way to connect with the values of Pride, Respect, Ownership, Willingness, and Leadership.
Beginning each Monday morning, students and staff will start their week by reciting the PBIS pledge together as a reminder of the school’s shared goals and commitment to community values. The activity served as both a celebration of learning and a powerful expression of Panther PRIDE across all grade levels.
