Dear S-VE Community,
This is a final reminder that the Spencer-Van Etten Central School District will hold a district-wide capital project vote tomorrow, Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2025, from 12–8 p.m. in the S-VE High School Auditorium Lobby (16 Dartts Crossroad, Spencer, NY).
Residents will consider a $22.6 million capital improvement project that addresses safety, space, infrastructure, accessibility, and learning needs across all district facilities — with no additional tax increase to residents. Like any long-term investment, school facilities require maintenance and upgrades to remain safe, efficient, and supportive of student learning. Capital projects allow districts to access state aid to complete work that cannot be funded through the annual budget.
If approved, the project would include:
Safety and security upgrades
HVAC, plumbing, and electrical system improvements
ADA accessibility enhancements
Pavement, sidewalk, and parking lot repairs
Renovations to instructional spaces including the Music Suite and Ag/Technology Suite
Additional toilet rooms
Playground improvements
Athletic facility updates including the track, new multipurpose synthetic field, and vehicular bridge
Project Funding
The proposed $22.6 million investment is funded through a combination of capital reserves, the district’s debt service fund, and state building aid, resulting in no tax levy increase.
