SVE Drone Team

The Spencer-Van Etten “Skeleton Crew” robotics team delivered a strong performance Sunday at the District 2 Championships, finishing in fourth place while competing against teams from both New York and New Jersey.

The event brought together 16 teams from across the region, creating a competitive field that challenged students to apply their engineering, programming and teamwork skills throughout the competition. Representing Spencer-Van Etten, the Skeleton Crew demonstrated focus, preparation and determination as they navigated the various challenges presented during the event.

Throughout the competition, the team worked collaboratively to problem-solve and adapt in real time, showcasing the technical skills and persistence they have developed through the program. Their performance against a talented group of teams from across two states ultimately earned them a top-four finish.

The strong showing reflects the dedication the students have put into preparing for the competition and highlights the continued growth of Spencer-Van Etten’s robotics program. With guidance from coaches Cornwell and Robbins, the team has continued to build momentum while gaining valuable experience competing at a high level.

By placing fourth in the district championships, the Skeleton Crew represented Spencer-Van Etten with pride while demonstrating the innovation, teamwork and perseverance that define the district’s student programs.
