Spencer-Van Etten FFA members visited second grade classrooms at SVE Elementary last week as part of Ag Literacy Week. The visit was coordinated through New York Agriculture in the Classroom.
Middle and high school students read the book “Seasons on the Farm” and led a discussion on how agriculture changes throughout the year. The lesson focused on seasonal activities and the role of farming in daily life.
Students also completed a related activity to reinforce the concepts shared during the visit. The experience provided an opportunity for FFA members to engage younger students in agricultural education.
District staff thanked the second grade teachers and students for welcoming the presenters into their classrooms. Organizers plan to continue participating in Ag Literacy Week in the future.
