Fifth- and sixth-grade students at Spencer-Van Etten Central School District participated in a career-focused morning designed to introduce them to a range of college and career opportunities.
Students engaged in multiple activities throughout the event, including presentations from three local authors who shared insights into their writing processes and career paths.
A GST BOCES STEAM specialist led sessions on drones and coding, giving students an opportunity to explore careers connected to emerging technologies.
Students also participated in team-based breakout box challenges, completed online career exploration activities and took part in a building-wide scavenger hunt highlighting colleges and universities attended by district staff members.
The event provided students with opportunities to collaborate, problem-solve and learn about potential future pathways.
