The Spencer-Van Etten Central School District Board of Education approved the appointment of Kristopher Williamson as the district’s new School Business Administrator during its meeting Monday night.
Williamson currently serves as the School Business Administrator for the Cortland Enlarged City School District, a position he has held for the past five years. Prior to entering school business administration, he worked as a mathematics teacher in the Newfield Central School District for 13 years.
Williamson is also familiar with the Spencer-Van Etten community, having completed his administrative internship with the district during the 2020-21 school year under the mentorship of current School Business Administrator Debra Eichholtz, who previously announced her retirement effective Sept. 10, 2026.
Superintendent Patrick Patterson said the district conducted a thorough interview process over the past two months that included representatives from CSEA, SVETA, ASA and community members.
“We are excited to welcome Kris back to S-VE,” Patterson said. “His previous connection to the district, combined with his experience in school business administration and education, made him an outstanding candidate for this role.”
Williamson shared his excitement about returning to a rural school district closer to home and becoming a full-time member of the S-VE community.
His anticipated start date is July 20, 2026, allowing for transition time with Eichholtz prior to her retirement.
