Spencer-Van Etten Elementary School Counselor Catherine Santos has been recognized by A New Hope Center in Tioga County with the Youth Leadership Award for her commitment to supporting students and promoting school safety through meaningful partnerships.
Santos was honored for her collaboration with A New Hope Center, an organization dedicated to prevention education and advocacy. Through the partnership, she has integrated A New Hope Center’s programs and resources into classroom lessons at the elementary school, helping students build awareness, strengthen protective skills, and access important social-emotional supports.
“Catherine consistently goes above and beyond to ensure our students feel safe, supported, and empowered,” said Elementary Principal Matthew Stroup. “Her partnership with A New Hope Center has expanded opportunities for prevention education and has had a meaningful impact on our school community. This recognition is a reflection of the care, dedication, and leadership she brings to her work every day.”
