SPENCER — Spencer-Van Etten Central School District is proud to recognize the members of the Class of 2026 who were selected to receive community scholarships in recognition of their hard work, achievements and future aspirations.
These scholarships, made possible through the generosity of alumni organizations, memorial funds and community supporters, help students pursue their educational and career goals while celebrating the many talents and interests represented within the graduating class.
Recipients of the 2026 community scholarships include:
SVEAA College Scholarships
Lauren Gillette, who will major in Biology at Marywood University with plans to become a physician assistant.
Taylor Tufford, who will attend Binghamton University to study Music and Environmental Science.
SVEAA Trade Scholarship
Vivienne Secondo, who plans to pursue a career as a dental hygienist through SUNY Broome Community College.
Gary & Kathe Vergason Scholarship for the Trades
Luukas Carling, who will study Engineering at Rochester Institute of Technology and hopes to work for a biomaterial engineering company.
Lillian Williams Memorial Trade Scholarship
Kaylee Kastenhuber, who will attend SUNY Oneonta and major in Geology.
Spencer Alumni Association Scholarship
Luukas Carling, Engineering, Rochester Institute of Technology.
Bethany Cartwright, Music, Finger Lakes Community College.
Nicholas Oakes, Adolescent Education, Keuka College.
Marion Pierce, Botany and Environmental Sciences, Keuka College.
Van Etten Alumni Scholarship
Olivia Swayze, Business and Finance, University at Buffalo.
Luukas Carling, Engineering, Rochester Institute of Technology.
Jackson Bennett, Sports Management, SUNY Broome Community College.
The Doris Smith Struzinsky Memorial Scholarship
Tayah Beach, Nursing, McDaniel College.
The John F. Sandusky Athletic Scholarship
Kaylee Kastenhuber, Geology, SUNY Oneonta.
