Residents of the Spencer-Van Etten Central School District will vote Tuesday, May 19, on the district’s proposed 2026-27 school budget and Board of Education candidates.

Voting will take place from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Spencer-Van Etten High School Auditorium Lobby.

The proposed $29,893,318 budget carries a 2.14% tax levy increase and continues to support district priorities outlined in the district’s Blueprint for Excellence strategic plan.

The spending plan includes continued support for academic programming, student services, extracurricular opportunities, staffing, transportation and operational needs across the district.

District officials said the proposal was developed to maintain educational opportunities for students while remaining fiscally responsible for taxpayers.

Residents are encouraged to review the district’s budget newsletter and supporting materials before casting their vote.
