The halls that raised them. The futures that await them. During S-VE’s cherished Tassel Dash tradition, our seniors put on their caps and gowns, carried the S-VE banner, and walked through the middle school and elementary school hallways one final time before graduation. It’s a powerful reminder of just how far they’ve come — from the children who first walked through these doors to the young adults now preparing to take their next steps into the world. Surrounded by cheers, smiles, and plenty of emotion, this beloved tradition celebrates the memories made, the growth achieved, and the bright futures ahead. Once a Panther, always a Panther. Congratulations to the Class of 2026! 🎓🐾❤️🖤

Last week and our seventh and eighth grade intro to ag classes were talking about companion animals! So what does that mean for a spooky scary Friday? Our students were able to make homemade dog treats out of pumpkin, flour, and eggs to either take home to their own pets or to donate to the local animal shelter! We worked on making logos for our dog treats that will be voted on this week! This logo will represent our SVE FFA dog treats which may show up at a local fundraiser in November!

A little sunshine, a little creativity, and a whole lot of learning! Our elementary students enjoyed art class outside this morning — mixing math, writing, and art as they designed their own hopscotch squares. What an awesome way to learn through play! 🖍️➕🩵

Congratulations to Ms. Adyson Miller, S-VE Middle School Agriculture Teacher, on being named our September PBIS Superstar! Her colleagues recognized her for raising the bar in her Ag classes, building strong relationships with students, and celebrating their successes. She’s also helping grow our FFA program and giving her time to after-school activities—all in her very first year of teaching! The PBIS Team presented Ms. Miller with a basket of classroom supplies to celebrate this well-deserved honor. 💐📚

From Lunch to Life! Third and fourth graders had a hands-on lesson in composting thanks to Board of Education member Rick Rogers, who has volunteered his time to support S-VE’s food composting program for over 10 years. Students learned what compost is, how it helps plants grow, and even got to plant their own bean seeds using a compost and soil mix. They also got a close-up look at the food waste collected in our blue bins before it heads to the compost pile at the high school. 🌿🫘♻️👏

Buzz buzz—Nurse Hannah brought the hive to life in our EPK3 classroom! As part of their “Springtime” unit, students have been learning all about bees, and Nurse Hannah stopped by to share some sweet knowledge about beekeeping—complete with a honey tasting! What a bee-utiful way to learn! 🐝🍯🌼

S-VE FFA members recently attended the 100th NYS FFA Convention in Syracuse, where they competed in contests, explored the college and career expo, participated in workshops, and connected with FFA members from across the state! Three middle schoolers represented S-VE in the Jr. Tool ID contest, while six high school students joined the event—four competing in the Sr. Quiz Bowl and two serving as District 7 delegates. A special highlight was seeing one of the very first Spencer-Van Etten FFA jackets proudly displayed on the “Wall of Jackets!” 🌾💙🛠️🎓
